Important Facts About Your Menstrual Cycle

1. Your cycle starts on the 1st day of your period and lasts about 28 days (some may be a bit shorter or longer).

2. Ovulation (when an egg is released from the ovary and ready to be fertilized by sperm) occurs on approximately the 15th day of your cycle (not the calendar month!).

3. Having unprotected sex within 5 days before ovulation or 24 hrs after ovulation increases your chance of getting pregnant.

4. If the egg is not fertilized you will get your period in about 2 weeks and your cycle starts again.

If you have missed your period, we would be glad to schedule you for a free pregnancy test at one of our five New Jersey locations (Jersey City, Montclair, Morristown, Newark and Plainfield). Please call us at 973-840-8924 or text us 973-840-8924.
